Description

The Palm Beach Photographic Centre is holding a workshop to help prepare those students who are interested in auditioning for Digital Media (Photography) at the prestigious Dreyfoos School of the Arts. As well as receiving numerous awards and having impressive alumni, Newsweek recently ranked Dreyfoos 40th out of 500 of the top high schools in the nation. There are only 30 - 40 positions available in the Digital Media department for incoming Freshman, so if you are interested in attending Dreyfoos, this class will be a vital tool in increasing your chances of acceptance.

This class will be a mock audition for the Digital Media department, taught by a current Dreyfoos student, along with a professional, experienced photographer.

The instructor will show you how to shoot better photos in just one day! During a photo-walk, he will help you find excellent images in average, ordinary places. You will learn how to "fill up the frame" of your camera so that everything counts, where cropping or post-processing will not be necessary.

After the photo-walk, you will learn how to edit the photos you shoot. The instructor will demonstrate how to spot the "sweet" moments, while overlooking the more awkward shots.

Then, you will learn the art of "photo-story boarding", with a hands-on session on how to build a complete, comprehensive story using photos. You will also work with a current Dreyfoos student to make sure you gain the tools necessary for a successful audition!
