PRE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED: Class is limited to the first 12 sign-ups, it is important that you sign-up in advance as walk-ins will only be admitted if space is available. If a member signs up and is a no-show, there will be a fee of $25 assessed. You will not be able to sign up for another 90-minute workshop until that fee has been paid. The One Light Portrait – Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018, 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm

The best way to get started with studio lights is to keep it simple. This means one light and one light only! With lighting, depth can easily be achieved by simply creating light direction and the idea of moving one light away from the camera achieves this goal. We will demonstrate how to think past the camera, to become aware of the different styles, background & lighting options. Let us show you how lighting can be simple & fun!

Scene Modes: Dial into better pictures – Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018, 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm

Those icons on your camera — the running man, the silhouette, the stars, the flower — they can help you take better pictures with a simple turn of a dial! Your camera’s ever-useful, often-overlooked scene modes are preprogrammed settings for common types of photo opportunities. Need a clear shot of a small detail? Dial into macro mode! Tired of blurry pictures of the kids on the soccer field? Banish blur with sports mode! In this 90-minute workshop, you’ll learn how, when, and why to use your camera’s scene modes. You’ll even come away with tips on how they can add that creative touch to your photographs. Get into class, and get your camera off the green box! A camera is required for this class.

Get my pictures into the world! – Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018, 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm 

You’ve taken some great pictures! But unfortunately, they’re stuck on your camera. In this 90 minute class, you’ll learn to get your pictures off your camera, and on to your tablet or iPhone, or even on to your television set, where they can delight your friends and family. Leave class with a greater understanding of the various ways to get pictures from the camera to computer — and out into the world!

Portraits for Social Media! – Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018, 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm

Portraits for Social Media professionally and for fun— Learn steps to create a visual persona which will speak integrity and create interest to open dialogue and connection! Expand your horizons to create a marketing campaign and avoid mishaps by purposefully composing a pose and setting! Think past the camera, to become aware of the different destinations Your “Image” may arrive at! Shoot for the different venues for with You in Mind! — eHarmony, Facebook, Linkedin, even event fliers may require different styles and backgrounds to set the tone!

Why RAW? – Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018, 10:00 am – 11:30 am

This 90-minute class will show you the advantages to shoot RAW and when it is best to use jpeg.  The RAW file, known as the digital negative, holds many advantages, but it still needs to be processed.  Learn the tools you can use to gain full control of your image & create a stunning final product.

Fun Ways to Get Your Photos Seen – Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018, 11:00 am – 12:30 am

In today’s world, there are many different ways to share your photography. From creating fun things like memes & wallpapers to Pinterest boards and art sites to display and sell your images. Learn some of the newest ways and trends to get your photography noticed.

Bring your recent photographs to share with other members. Show your work in a fast-paced 10 minute or less presentation, and get insightful feedback about that project you’ve been working on, or images for the member show!
