This intensive five day workshop is designed for those who would like to use their images for a creative journey that includes putting their hand and imagination to work with all manner of photo transfers and hand coloring. The workshop will explore various methods of photo transfers onto a variety of surfaces including fine art papers, wood, and metal. You will learn to engage your creativity while layering your images with hand applied color. During this exciting week in the realm of photography, art and mixed media, you will learn techniques that set your work apart and help you to achieve a unique expression that transcends the ordinary. A photo transfer often gives a beautiful and unusual edge when the emulsion is lifted and other marks within the image that speak to the handmade and unique. Each piece is a true original. In this workshop you will explore the subtleties and possibilities of the photo transfer and how to add your own creative voice though hand coloring and mark making on the images in various ways. This workshop is perfect for image makers who have just entered the exciting world of iPhone photography.With two full days of lecture and shooting, you’ll get a firm foundation on the exciting world of mobile imaging. In this workshop you’ll get a firm grip on which apps are best for shooting, editing, and stylizing your iPhone photos. But this workshop is more than a list of apps to buy; you’ll learn iPhone/iPad techniques that will make your photos look the way you want — from straight to highly stylized — with no geeky jargon or hassle! What Participants Should Bring Eager iPhone Artists should bring an iPhone Xs or later to the workshop. Here are a few things to keep in mind as you prepare: • Have the latest iPhone system software installed (iOS 17.x). • Make sure you have some space on your iPhone (5GB minimum) for images and new apps. • Have your Apple account in good working order (current credit card on file with Apple, etc.) so you can make app purchases during the workshop. • Make sure your iPhone battery is fully charged!
