LIMITED TO 8 STUDENTS In The Master Black and White Print workshop, you will explore the various techniques used to create a perfect black and white print. There is more than one way to convert an image from full color to black and white. Many of the basic techniques available can leave you with a print that looks obviously edited in Photoshop. We will go over a handful of different techniques, which ones to use and which to avoid, and how to best apply these techniques to your images and get the best true to black and white print possible. This workshop takes a practical application approach to when, why, and how to convert an image. In it, you learn which methods give you the best results and when to choose a simple or a complex solution. Some of the topics covered in this workshop are: Global de-saturation: When and why you should and should not use it. LAB conversions: When and why you should and should not use it. Split Channel conversions: What they are good for. How to use to get the same effect with a file two thirds the size.
