The Raw Deal with George Schaub
Shooting with RAW provides the best opportunity to get the most from your digital camera. Adobe’s Camera Raw is a very comprehensive image adjustment and editing program that while impressive can seem intimidating with its numerous options and tools. Aimed at those who have not worked with it before, but have some experience with image editing, this imaging lab session provides a guided tour of the workspace and how each tool can be used to enhance and interpret all camera image formats, from JPEGs to TIFFs to every RAW camera format. Attendees will be supplied with work images and a takeaway cheat sheet for a hands-on experience as we make the journey. Experience level: Beginner to Intermediate, although some experience with image adjustments (in camera or any basic image editing program) will be helpful. George Schaub is a photographer, author, editor and teacher of photographic and printing techniques. He was Adjunct Professor at the New School in New York City for twenty years and lectured and taught at numerous workshops in the US and abroad. Author of over twenty books on photography, he served as Editorial Director at Shutterbug and Petersens Photographic and Executive Editor at Popular Photography magazines. He currently serves as Vice-Chairman of the Technical Image Press Association. His most recent exhibits include “Parsing Sign and Image”
